Questions & Answers

Questions from The League of Women Voters San Diego (LWVSD) and the League of Women Voters of North County San Diego (LWVNCSD) (3)

If elected, how much time and energy will you be able to devote to this volunteer position over the next four years, given your other personal and professional obligations?
Answer from Dinah Poellnitz:
Yes! I'm committed and value the time required to exceed my obligations as a Central Commitee member.
What is the most significant challenge facing this party in the next decade, and if you are elected, how will you help the party prepare to meet it?
Answer from Dinah Poellnitz:

The party's challenge to acknowledge the reality of the working class community's needs into effective policies influenced by big money donors is one of the biggest challeges preventing us from expanding are voter base. We need to endorse candidates and policies that raise our standards for harworking families. I won't be elected because an elected official endorsed me to maintain an agenda to protect their donor base. I don't want a job in politics. I want my neighbors to afford housing and I want my friends with cancer to never see a healthcare bill AGAIN regardless of thier social class. I will only be that voice and vote in that manner as a Central Commitee member. That's why I'm here.

What public figures, past and present, do you believe have given the most postive examples of what this party stands for? Please explain your reasons for thinking so.
Answer from Dinah Poellnitz:

Alexandria Ocasia-Cortez and Bernie Sanders. No matter how a person feels about their personality, both have been a consistent voice for working class values, enviroment and anti- war in the party. My second is Grace Jones, a woman who challeged identity perceptions of beauty and strength. Imagine a party with more outliers than insiders.
